Who are the SEO experts?
Up until a couple of years ago, consumer confidence in the search engine optimization (SEO) industry was low, mostly due to amateur "SEO experts" that did not meet client expectations. There are many SEO firms out there that use false advertising and fraudulent claims.
However, over the past couple of years, as Google and the other major engines improve their algorithms to combat spam, a Search Engine Optimization Expert has become more and more legitimate as a marketing resource.
Rest assured, SEO experts are legitimate and those firms that charge 5-figures/month can justify the results. But how do you know the SEO professional you are considering is legit?
Questions to Ask that "SEO expert" you are considering using:
Will the company share its SEO techniques with you?
Search Engine Optimization is not a secret practice. With adequate time and energy, you can do it yourself. SEO consists of research, optimizing pages, increasing link popularity and knowing where and how to get a site indexed. Ask the SEO firm for an overview of how it achieves results. If the firm won't give you an explanation, chances are the company is trying to hide its unethical techniques.
Does the firm understand the difference between traffic and quality traffic?
Quality traffic will result in more sales and leads for your company. Does the SEO firm focus on generating more sales? You don't want "junk traffic" coming from "pill & porn sites" or from countries not in your intended audience.
